About My Work

For many years my art practice has concentrated on exhibiting at local Gippsland venues, including Gippsland Art Gallery Sale, Cowwarr Arts Space, Robb St Gallery Bairnsdale and Maffra Exhibition Space. I have also exhibited at various Melbourne galleries including Quadrant Gallery in Hawthorn. My work has been sold and leased  to a variety of people and venues including Loy Yang Power, medical clinics, accountants and many private collections both within Australia and overseas.

My artworks are created using acrylic paint and tissue paper collage on canvas. I usually focus on one landscape area at a time, producing a series of works to capture the colours, mood and forms of the place. I create original studio artworks based upon numerous photographs taken over several days. Series subjects include Glenmaggie Weir, Loy Yang coal mine, the Gippsland Lakes, Kilcunda coastline, rock pools, the Gippsland High Country, the coastline at Pambula, Nicholson River near Bairnsdale among many others. My recent focus has centered on the my recent travels to the Wimmera in Victoria and Japan. I have also completed works relating to overseas locations including Turkey, Thailand, China, USA canyon country and Stonehenge.

Although the works are about individual places, they represent the power, majesty and complexity of nature, as well as our own emotional responses to it.
